Not much else you can ask for, right?
Things that have happened to me since January 8, 2010:
- Met and married the most wonderful woman I can imagine.
- Kids have grown by five years, into healthy, happy, fun teenagers.
- Celebrated 5 Christmases with my family.
- Became a college president (what?)
- Working on sending my daughter off to college in the fall.
- I make dinners for my family most every night, we do things like watch dumb TV shows together, take great family vacations to Florida, Mexico, Door County, House of the Rock, all sorts of fun, and we experience the joys and, yes, stresses and worries of growing up and old together.

I just ran across this blog!! Congratulations! That is amazing. My husband is heading to his second surgery but first with HIPEC. We are a bit nervous about the change to a new surgeon!
This is awesome! My hubby is 5 years post diagnosis and will begin treatment with Dr. Fournier! It's comforting to know how much his patients like him. I am hoping after the second surgery, we ca celebrate 5 years NED! congrats again!
Congratulations. Saw the college president as a LinkedIn notice, congrats on that too. And the marriage, congrats on that.
Will reach 5 years post-chemo in July. Ditto on not forgetting how lucky we are.
Hope everything still ok with you :)
My husband did the same surgery in march 2015.
Best wishes from Diana in Sweden.
Hi Dan,
Happy to hear you're doing well!
I'm having a peritonectomy and cytoreductive surgery followed by HIPEC on March 31st for peritoneal mesothelioma. I'm a little (a lot) scared but it's definitely helpful to hear stories like yours. I wonder how long you were out of work? Did you have chemo? Were you able to work through the chemo?
Would love to chat
Jenna, my email is dan.w.eck@gmail.com. Send me an email and we can discuss! Dan
